Obituary for Vivian Irene Lowry (Epler)

Vivian Irene  Lowry (Epler)
Vivian Irene Lowry, 85, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. She was born in Rensselaer on June 10, 1932, the daughter of Frank C. Epler, Sr. and Bertha A. (Montgomery) Epler. She graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1950 and was a lifelong area resident. On August 6, 1950, in Rensselaer, she married Robert L. Lowry. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2001.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by: her parents; four brothers: Harold Epler, Charles Epler, Frank Epler, Jr., and Wayne Epler; and two sisters, Ruth Harrington and Helen Healey.

Vivian is survived by her three children: Robert (Connie) Lowry; Ricky (Linda) Lowry, and Rebecca (Donald) Brandenburg; four grandchildren: Michael (Staci) Lowry, Justin Lowry, Vanessa (Andy) Manet, and Kristina (John) Connors; and four great-grandchildren: Zackary Lowry, Jordyn Lowry, Regan Connors, and Barrett Manet.

Vivian helped her husband on the farm and together they enjoyed riding horses. She was a member of The Remington Chapter of Eastern Star and The North Carpenter Home Ec Club. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pastor John Hostetter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rensselaer 500 Club, the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, or your favorite charity. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is handling the arrangements.
