Obituary for Paul Allen Moore

Paul Allen Moore, 81, of Rensselaer, passed away at his home on Sunday evening, December 22, 2019. He was born in Rensselaer on February 24, 1938 to Orval R. Moore and Helen Elaine (Evion) Moore. He was a lifelong area resident. On April 26, 1974, in Rensselaer, he married Patricia Ann Harrington.

Paul served in the U.S. Army Reserves for seven years. He worked for the City of Rensselaer, St. Joseph’s College, the Rensselaer Stone Quarry, Northway Products, and the Rensselaer Central School Corporation. In his younger years, he enjoyed building model cars and planes. He enjoyed making stained glass lamps, refinishing old furniture, collecting oil cans and antiques, attending car shows, and helping his grandchildren with 4-H.

Paul is survived by his wife Patricia Moore of Rensselaer; seven children: Kevin (Dannette) Bulington of Rensselaer, Kathy (Rick) Boggs of Wheatfield, Deborah Emanuel of Jacksonville, FL, Julee Peacock of Auburn, GA, Rick (Janis) Moore of South Carolina, David (Melissa) Moore of South Carolina, and Teresa (Steve) Sprayberry of Mississippi; one brother, Orville (Jeanette) Moore of Wolcott, one sister-in-law, Barbara Moore of Rensselaer; 18 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Victor and Donald; two sisters, Elaine and Margaret; and “Mom”, Mary Moore.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Philip Leichty officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the funeral.
