Obituary for Paul Kosta

Paul Marvin Kosta, age 84 of Rensselaer, passed away Sun., Oct. 30, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend as the result of an auto accident in Starke County. He was born in Jasper County on Feb. 11, 1927, son of the late Edward J. Kosta and Edna (Mauck) Kosta. He was a lifelong Parr area resident.

Paul graduated from Fair Oaks High School with the class of 1945. In 1947 he married Madylon O’Dowd. She preceded him in death. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of American Legion Post #29 in Rensselaer. Paul was a member of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed being a farmer and spending time with his family and friends.

Paul is survived by his son Michael Kosta (wife: Mary Beth) of Rensselaer; a brother, Edward Kosta of Parr; three grandchildren, Michael J. Kosta of Caledonia, MI, Kimberly Musser (husband: Bryan) of Brookston, and Kara Luck (husband: Michael) of Wolcott; and five great-grandchildren, Eddie Kosta, Danielle Musser, Hunter Musser, Maddie Musser, and Grace Luck. Special friend Marilyn Stellingwerf also survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kerry Kosta, his ex-wife Madylon, and his brother Joseph Kosta.

Friends may call on Sat., Nov. 5, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Pastor John Hostetter officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Jasper County Hospital Home Health Care and Hospice.
