Shannon Suzanne Munson, 38, of Rensselaer, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on February 8, 1978. On October 31, 2014, in Pass Christian, Mississippi, she married Scott Jones, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Shannon is survived by her five children: DeAnnA Doyle (Zack Dowty), Hope Doyle, Austin Doyle, Bradden Munson, and Krista Munson, all of Rensselaer; one grandson, William Dowty; and one granddaughter on the way, Alexandra Dowty. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl S. Atkinson.

Shannon, affectionately known as “Mom”, was a homemaker. She had a big heart and helped many people, welcoming them into her home. She founded F.A.B. – Friends Against Bullying, a cause that was very important to her. She was a proud Mom and “Glam-ma” and her family was her pride and joy. She had a vibrant personality. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and drinking her Mountain Dew.

Visitation will be Friday, October 14, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Interment will follow at Bedford Cemetery in Monon.
