Obituary for Albert E. Miller Jr.
Albert Earl Miller, Jr., 88, of Rensselaer, formerly of Remington, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born in Grundy County, Illinois on October 26, 1934, the son of Albert C. Miller, Sr. and Hazel Irene (Edwards) Miller.
On March 2, 1958, in Kentland, he married Iona Mae Hensley. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2013.
Albert worked with Roto-Rooter for many years and Silver Lane Hybrids in Remington. He enjoyed lawn mowing and doing word find puzzles.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie S. Gifford of Rensselaer; one brother, Donald J. Miller of Rensselaer; one sister, Alma Jean Hoaks of Goodland; 12 grandchildren: Matthew E. Gifford (wife: Karrie) of Rensselaer, Adam W. Gifford (Mary) of Kentland; Isaac David Lee Babcock of Kentland, Renesmee Sue Gifford of Kentland, Austin Johnson (wife: Rebekah) of Rensselaer, Travis Irvine (Kaitlyn) of Rensselaer; Colton Johnson (Kayla) of Rensselaer, McKennah, Jaxston, Charley, Ivy and Leighton; and two on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iona Mae Miller; one brother, Edward E. Miller; one sister, Anna M. Minick; one son-in-law, Philip E. Gifford; one brother-in-law, Melvin Hoaks; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Miller and Charlene Miller.
Visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2022 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral at 12 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Andrew Northcutt officiating. Burial will follow at Remington Cemetery.
