Amanda Lauren Brown, age 28, of Winamac, Indiana, formerly of Rensselaer, Indiana, lost her brave 3-week battle with Leukemia on February 14, 2020 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born February 17, 1991, in Hammond, Indiana to Lori Ann (Styka) Nudo and the late David James Brown. She was a 2009 graduate of Marion Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
Amanda tended bar at the Northside Tavern in Rensselaer for 10 years. Her love of animals led her to her job as a veterinary technician at the Monon Veterinary Clinic where she worked for the past 18 months. Amanda truly loved all animals, especially horses. She enjoyed being outdoors in the country. Her greatest love was spending time with her daughter, Abby.
Amanda will be remembered for her sassy, fun-loving personality, and for always remaining positive and strong.
She is survived by her 5-year old daughter, Abby Letson; her mother, Lori Nudo; her step-father, John A. Nudo III; her fiancé, John Paul Letson, and his son Camden; her maternal grandmother, Patricia Styka; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Brown; her maternal grandfather, Jerome Styka; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Owens; and her maternal great-grandmother, Ann Poloncak.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February, 22, 2020 at 2 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor Wayne Williams officiating.
