Print
Andrew A. “Andy” Blasco, 70, of Lake Village, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was born in Roselawn, Indiana on August 20, 1948, the son of Joseph E. Blasco and Delores (Bruechet) Blasco. He was a lifelong resident of Newton County.

Andy was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for E.W. Mattocks & Sons for over 40 years. Andy was a skilled mechanic and could fix anything. He had a knack for tinkering with things and could easily reconstruct things that had been taken apart.

Andy loved to go fishing and enjoyed annual fishing trips to Tennessee, Minnesota, and Lake Erie. He enjoyed attending fish fries at the DeMotte American Legion on Friday nights.

Spending time with his family was Andy’s greatest love. He was a proud grandpa who enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren with their various sporting events.

Andy is survived by two sons, Scott Blasco (wife: Barbi) and Craig Blasco (wife: Julie); one daughter, Jennifer Cain (husband: Brandon); two brothers, John Blasco (wife: Cathy) and Joe Blasco; and five grandchildren: Mick, Drew, Dawson, Logan, and Abagail.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Delores Blasco; brother, Paul Cyphers; and granddaughter, Addison Blasco.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, c/o Steinke Funeral Home, or the DeMotte American Legion. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.SteinkeFuneralHome.com.
