Obituary for Bonnie Christine DePew (Andersen)

Bonnie Christine DePew, 74, of Rensselaer, IN passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on May 13, 1948, the daughter of Russell Martin Andersen and Anna May (Rapp) Anderson.

Bonnie moved from the east coast to Southern California, where she resided for 29 years. She studied metallurgy and worked for Hughes Aircraft in California at a plant that manufactured nuts and bolts that were used in the space shuttle program.

She moved to Lake Havasu, AZ where she spent the next 19 years. She ran her own cleaning business for many years.

Bonnie was a breast cancer survivor and donated a lot of her time and effort to raising funds for breast cancer research. She was one of the first women in the state of California to have reconstructive surgery.

She and her husband, Ricky, moved to Rensselaer, IN in 2014. They were married in Rensselaer on July 13, 2016. Bonnie enjoyed her dogs, boating, and camping in their RV.

She is survived by her husband, Ricky DePew of Rensselaer, and her sister, June (Dean) Pankowski of Lake Havasu, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Gary Andersen, Eric Andersen, and infant brother Russell Andersen.
