Carolyn S. “Carol” Sue, 76, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. She was born Aug. 1, 1945. She grew up in Benton County where she attended grade school at Gilboa and was involved in 4-H. She was a graduate of Remington High School.

Carol was a 14-year member of the Rensselaer Lions Club and received the distinction of being named Lion of the Year at the Lions Club cookout on Aug. 24, 2021, in appreciation and recognition of her outstanding service, devotion and loyalty to the club. She was the recipient of the Lions ROAR award, and was the club Lion Tamer and in charge of club decorations. Carol showed up and volunteered for every activity she could, giving freely of her time to help others.

She was an active supporter of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. She served on the Board for Habitat for Humanity for many years and worked in the cafeteria at Van Rensselaer Elementary School.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Leona M. Wilkerson.

A memorial mass will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021 at 12 p.m. CST at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Father Joshua Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
