Obituary for Cheryl Kay Wicker (Yeoman)

Cheryl Kay Wicker, 65, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Thursday evening, July 2, 2020 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. She was born in New Castle, Indiana on July 1, 1955, the daughter of Charles E. Yeoman and Emily “Betty” (Horler) Yeoman.

Cheryl worked in environmental services at Jasper County Hospital for 36 years. She loved gardening, cooking, and watching her cooking shows on TV. She also enjoyed traveling and horseback riding. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed hosting parties. Cheryl was strong-willed, she loved to talk, and she was a hard worker. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children: Shelly Bailey (Shaun Hinson) of Rensselaer, Eric Wicker of Monticello, Indiana and Shelby Blacklidge (Daniel) of Rensselaer; one brother, Gary Yeoman (Stacy) of Lafayette, Indiana; three sisters: Susan Redmond (David) of Tennessee, Gayle Sinclair (Mark) and Patty Nuss (Stoney), both of Rensselaer; and three grandchildren: Mark Cates, Jr., Kaylee Cates, and James Blacklidge.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, James L. Wicker; her parents, Charles and Betty Yeoman; and one brother, Raymond Yeoman.
