Obituary for Cheryl A. Wright (James)
Cheryl A. Wright, 72, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rensselaer on August 28, 1949, the daughter of Charles and Dora (Shultz) James. On August 28,1967 she married her husband of 54 years, Matthew Wright.
Cheryl was a caregiver for the elderly and a homemaker. She attended the First Christian Church in Rensselaer. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #2272, also in Rensselaer. She enjoyed reading, yard sales, and scratch-off lottery tickets. She also enjoyed hosting holidays and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew Wright; three children: Wanda Rector, John Wright, and Jessica (Justin) Bach; five grandchildren: Casey, Alicia, Cindy, Brody and Nova; and three great-grandchildren: Eli Joe, Irelynn and Remi. Two sisters also survive, Jane Hullings and Connie Wilkerson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers; and one grandson, Matt Rector.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2022 from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 12 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Chaplain Jim Steffens officiating.
