Obituary for Christopher Bailey

It is with heavy hearts; the family of Christopher Bailey announces his sudden passing on May 16, 2023 at Sidney & Louis Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 39.

He was born November 8, 1983 in Valley Bush Retreat, St. Mary, Jamaica to Leroy and Claudia (Byfield) Bailey. After Graduating from Tacky High School St. Mary, Jamaica he attended a Trade School in St. Mary as a Certified Electrician.

Christopher married Julie Eisele in Indianapolis Indiana on May 25, 2018. At the time of his passing, He was a forklift driver for C.H. Robinson where he developed a close relationship with his fellow co-workers and other friends.

Christopher’s first duty in life since the day he was born was a Saint and Servant of the Lord. St. Christopher Bailey was a Shepherd Boy and Acting –Superintendent at the Church of God and Saints of Christ Pesterfield St. Mary. Jamaica. He then migrated to Indianapolis, Indiana where he was a member of the Richmond tabernacle.

Christopher enjoyed hiking and target shooting. He loved all types of cars and could name each and every one of them. Christopher thoroughly enjoyed America and the past 5 years of his new life here.

Christopher is survived by his wife Julie Bailey; son: Cameron Bailey; parents: Leroy and Claudia Bailey; sister: Darnett Kerr (Devon); brother: Orlando Bailey (Peggy); and sister Ava-Gae Stanley (Michael). As well as niece, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Doreen Jones and Wilbert Byfield; and paternal grandparents: Alfred and Seflin Bailey.

His presence will be missed greatly by the family, church family, friends and those who loved and knew him.

Visitation will be Thursday June 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon (CDT), with funeral service beginning at 12 noon at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Evangelist Kevin Moore and Pastor Jeremy Eisele will be officiating. Burial will follow at Weston Cemetery of Rensselaer.
