Obituary for David Wayne "Buzzy" Zacher
David Zacher “Buzzy”, age 54 of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, leaving behind two precious daughters and one trusty sidekick, his blue heeler, Jack.
David is survived by the loves of his life, twin daughters Lillian Sue and Josie Jane; his parents, Cecil and Josie Zacher; his sister Beth (Dave) Schieda; nephew Erik and niece Emily; along with his aunt June Lang and uncle Bill Campbell; and many beloved cousins.
David was born on May 18, 1968 and grew up on his family farm. He was a natural-born farmer, and an active member of 4-H and FFA. He graduated in 1986 from Rensselaer Central High School. He was a giant NASCAR fan (only rooting for the best, “Dale Earnhardt”); enjoyed playing guitar; singing John Cougar Mellencamp; hunting with his best friend, Jeff Scheurich; and attending all of Lily and Josie’s school events. He will be dearly missed and remembered by so many.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. CDT at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A private memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rensselaer FFA chapter.
