Obituary for Donna Mae Thomas (Lindahl)

Donna Mae Thomas, 83, of Morocco, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, November 9, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Brook on December 24, 1937, the daughter of Charles and Violet (Roadruck) Lindahl. She was a graduate of Mt. Ayr High School. She married Alfred R. Thomas on April 24, 1977, and he survives.

Donna was a homemaker and she adored her family. She loved spending time with them, especially her precious grandbabies. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing large meals for family get-togethers and holidays. Donna always made enough food for everyone and there were always leftovers.

She loved nature and especially watching the birds and hearing them sing. She collected bird figurines that she displayed in her home.

She was an active and faithful member of the Morocco First United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher, worked in the church Thrift Shop, and was a member of the Methodist Women’s Group. She was in charge of organizing and preparing the church funeral dinners for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred Thomas of Morocco; nine children: Pamela (John) Katsimpalis of Yorkville, Illinois, Steve (Linda) Thomas of Kentland, Connie (Bob) Watson and Gregory Thomas, both of Lafayette; Joyce (Jack) Priser of Bourbon, Indiana, Karen (Ray) Holderman of Etna Green, Lana (Chris) Binge of Morocco, Rita (Mike) Hatke of Lebanon, and Deborah (Andy) Shepherd of New Castle; four brothers: Delmar Lindahl of Rensselaer, Richard (Jeanie) Lindahl of Thayer, Thomas (Carolyn) Lindahl of Shelby, and Larry (Kim) Lindahl of Noblesville; one sister, Phyllis (Allen) Curtis of Thayer; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Lindahl of Lowell; 21 grandchildren: Beth (Darrick), Mark (Bethann), Josh, Kyla (Dallas), Julie (Jake), Maygan, Jason, Joshua (Stacie), Gabby, Ethan, Quinn, Hannah, Becci (Scott), Brittany, Amber, Andy (Nicole), Justin (Jacqueline), Nick, Jennifer, Ian and Nicole. Many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles “Bud” Lindahl; one daughter, Sheri Baldwin; and one granddaughter, April Pearcy.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. (CST) at the Morocco First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. (CST) at the Morocco First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Private family burial will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Oakland Cemetery.
