Obituary for Edzena Wireman (Stone)

Edzena  Wireman (Stone)
Edzena Wireman, 90, of Rensselaer, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Indiana Veterans’ Home in West Lafayette. She was born in Decoy, Kentucky on May 8, 1927, daughter of the late Adam Stone and Rodie (Stevens) Stone. On June 8, 1946 she married Mitchell Wireman. He preceded her in death September 28, 1999.

Edzena was baptized at the United Baptist Church of Gillam Township in Bailey’s Corner, where she was also a member for many years. She worked at Northway Products in Rensselaer for 24 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and especially spending time with her family.

Edzena is survived by six children: Roy Wireman, Glen Wireman, Jackie (fiancé: Suyuan) Wireman, Janett (Butch) Toosley, Margie (Bob) Crosier, and Evelyn Wireman; four brothers: Claude Stone, Gerald (Patty) Stone, Ernie (Susie) Stone, and Ervin (Sue) Stone; one sister, Mary Magdalene “Mag”; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Mitchell; two sons, Tim Wireman and Michael (Carol) Wireman; six brothers: Miller (Shirley) Stone, James (Betty) Stone, John Henry (Nora) Stone, Colonel (Jeraldine) Stone, Sam (Alta Mae “Tootsie”) Stone, and Lyman (Sue) Stone; and one sister, Christine (Richard “Ronnie”) Walker.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Nathan Wireman officiating. Interment will follow at Prater Cemetery.
