Obituary for Ella Margaret "Peggy" Snow

Ella Margaret "Peggy"  Snow
Ella Margaret “Peggy” Snow, 92, of Rensselaer, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, August 26, 2018 at the Rensselaer Care Center, surrounded by her loved ones. Peggy was born in Gifford Township on March 22, 1926, the daughter of Clarence Owen Long and Esther Deloris (Snow) Long. She was educated in the Gillam Township Schools.

On July 13, 1946, in Crown Point, she married Lester Carl Berg, Sr. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1997. On February 14, 1998, she married Glen Raymond Snow. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2009.

Peggy began working as an aide at the old Jasper County Hospital on Cullen Street when she was a teenager. She worked in the Central Supply Department at Jasper County Hospital for many years, retiring in 1988.

She attended Bethany Evangelical Free Church, and later the Bible Baptist Church in Rensselaer and the Gifford Church of God. Peggy loved the Lord and loved to sing his praises.

Peggy is survived by: two sons, Philip Allen Berg (Linda) of Tavares, Florida and Alan Kent Berg of Olathe, Kansas; daughter Deborah Lee Gahagan (Michael) of Kingsville, Missouri; daughter-in-law Cynthia Berg of West Lafayette; 9 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; first husband Lester; second husband Glen; son Lester Berg, Jr.; brother Harold Long; grandson Gregory Berg; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 12 p.m. with Pastor Delmas Conley, Pastor Gary Minard, and Pastor David Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church of Rensselaer or Gifford Church of God. Share memories and condolences at www.SteinkeFuneralHome.com.
