Obituary for Ernie Arlin Randolph

Ernie Arlin Randolph, 89, of Rensselaer, IN went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2022. He was born in Crossville, TN on September 26, 1932 to Jeff and Hattie (Emery) Randolph. His family moved to Indiana when Ernie was nine years old.

On December 22, 1957 he married Kathryn Jeanette Smith. They were married for 64 years. They had three daughters: Tammy, Vickie and Laura.

Ernie worked as an owner/operator over the road truck driver for 43 years. After he retired from Monon Trailer in 1996, he enjoyed working on bicycles. He delivered Meals on Wheels for 22 years. Ernie never met a stranger. He enjoyed visiting with people, sharing God’s word, and he would often drive individuals to out of town appointments.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Jeanette; three daughters: Tammy Baker, Vickie (Mark) Aughinbaugh and Laura (Ron) Odle; seven grandchildren: Kathryn (Brandon) Brown, Russ (Megan) Odle, Blake Randolph, Brittany Odle, Mark Aughinbaugh, Kaitlyn Aughinbaugh and Kelli (Tylor) Lovins; and four great-grandchildren: Nevan Odle, Brooklyn and Karington Brown, and Henry Randolph.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Effie Keen, Estella Northcutt, Eunice Lamb, Sue Hayes, Geneva Collis, and Earl, Elton and Elbert Randolph; and a son-in-law, Gary Sigman.

Visitation will be held at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the funeral from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow the funeral at Weston Cemetery.
