Obituary for Gloria Jean "Jeanie" Denton (Bigger)

Gloria Jean “Jeanie” Denton, 82, of Lake Village, Indiana passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Morocco, Indiana. She was born on May 3, 1938, in Lake Village, to Samuel Joseph Bigger and Lauretta Edith (Earley) Bigger. She was a 1956 graduate of Morocco High School. On April 8, 1960 she married Keith Lee Denton. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2001.

Jeanie was an active member of the Lake Village Presbyterian Church. She loved playing cards and throwing darts. She enjoyed going to the Flying Elbow Golf Course in Lake Village daily for lunch. Jeanie had a smile that would light up a room and she had a heart of gold.

She is survived by five children: Colleen O’Cull of Michigan, Kim (Jeff) Brown of Morocco, Indiana, Jeff (Wendy) Denton of Lake Village, Indiana, Karen (Tiny) Ordway of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Kathy Denton (Glenn) of Goodland, Indiana; two brothers, Jack Bigger of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Jim (Michelle) Bigger of Roselawn, Indiana; three sisters: June Fuller and Sue Coppage, both of Ohio, and Peggy (Stanley) McLean of Wisconsin. Eleven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Denton; one daughter, Kelly Joyce Sinks; her parents, Samuel and Lauretta Bigger; one brother, Joe Bigger; and two sisters, Jane McLean and Jolene Bigger.
