Obituary for James "Jimmy" Hansen
James D. Hansen, 76, of Morocco, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Southlake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville. He was born in Morocco on May 16, 1939, the son of the late Harlan and Hazel (Sorensen) Hansen. He graduated from Morocco High School and was a lifelong Morocco resident.
Jimmy worked as a custodian and bus driver for North Newton School Corporation. He also helped various area farmers. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Morocco. He enjoyed fishing and visiting with family and friends.
Jimmy is survived by: his niece Donna, and nephew Chuck, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by: his parents and one sister, Harlene Shepard.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 10 a.m. until noon (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Funeral services will be held at noon with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Morocco Library or the First United Methodist Church of Morocco.
