Janet Ilene  Haskins (Peacock)
Janet Ilene Haskins, 72, of Lafayette, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. She was born in Benton County on Sept. 22, 1942, the daughter of the late Clifford and Ferne (Simonin) Peacock.

Janet graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1960. Prior to moving to Lafayette, she lived in Barkley Township and spent 25 years in the Wolcott area. On Mar. 28, 1964, in Barkley Township, she married Daniel Haskins. She was a homemaker and had also worked for Northway Products in Rensselaer. She attended the Palestine Christian Church in Wolcott. Janet enjoyed growing flowers, antiquing and bird watching.

Janet is survived by her loving family: husband Daniel Haskins of Lafayette; one son, Bradley Scott Haskins (Sonya) of Lafayette; one daughter, Dana Altman (David) of Wolcott; one sister, Carolyn Barkley of Rensselaer; six grandchildren: Jessica (Harold), Nathan, Robin, Olivia, Clinton and Curtis; and one great grandson, Eric. She was preceded in death by: her parents and one sister, Beverly Nelson.

Per Janet’s wishes cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held at a later date at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Palestine Christian Church, 7275 W. 400 N, Wolcott, IN 47995. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is assisting the family.
