Obituary for Jewel M. "Tiny" Goddard (McCord)

Jewel M. “Tiny” Goddard, 92, of Morocco, passed away Wednesday evening, Dec. 22, 2021 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. She was born in Hammond on April 5, 1929, the daughter of Howard and Edna (Couse) McCord.

On Aug. 30, 1969, in Morocco, she married Robert Dean “Bob” Goddard. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2021.

Jewel was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Morocco First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Morocco American Legion Auxiliary and the Newton County Homemakers. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Christopher (Kate) Parrish of Chesterton and Randall (Andrea) Parrish of Kemp, TX; one daughter, April Parrish of Morocco; one sister, Norma Ferguson of Marshall, MI; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Deanna) Goddard of Morocco and Dave (Charlotte) Goddard of Anderson. Seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Donald McCord; one sister, Mary Kingma; one daughter, Vicky Gulley; and son-in-law, Michael Gulley.

Services for Jewel will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at the Morocco First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating.

Graveside services and burial for both Jewel and her husband Robert will be Monday, Jan. 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Russell Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Morocco First United Methodist Church. Steinke Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
