Obituary for Leilani Virginia Doyle

LEILANI VIRGINIA DOYLE, 78, of Morocco, passed away Tuesday July 9, 2019 at the Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois. Leilani was born on March 16, 1941 in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii to John and Virginia (Barba) Tangalin. She grew up in Hawaii and in April 1964 married Donald Joseph Doyle, Sr. in Honolulu, Hawaii. Soon after marriage Leilani and Donald moved to California and after a year they moved to Morocco area to raise their three boys.

Her three sons were the highlight of her life. She loved following all of their sports and spent many summers running the Little League consession stand in Morocco. In addition to raising three fine young men, Leilani worked at Permonite/Intech Corporation for 37 years as a machine operator and supervisor. She loved playing Bingo, baking, knitting, and was an avid Cubs fan. For the last ten years she and Don spent their winters in Florida. She most enjoyed spending time with their precious children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland.

Leilani is survived by her husband Donald, three sons; Donald J. Doyle Jr. (wife: Linda), Christopher Doyle (wife: Susan), and Bernard Doyle (wife: Debbie), seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings; John Tangalin, Jr. (wife: Bernadette), Veronica Sakaguchi (husband: Norman), Leroy Tangalin, Thomas Tangalin, John Pauole (wife: Nancy), Shanti Kanter (husband: David), Casey Thomsen-Tangalin, and James Thomsen-Tangalin (wife: Amie). She is preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday July 11th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. (CST) at the Steinke Funeral Home in Morocco, Indiana. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kentland, Indiana Friday July 12th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Robert Bernotas officiating. Burial will follow the funeral mass at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Kentland. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland.
