He was a 1942 graduate of Wheatfield High School. On Nov. 20, 1946 he married Thelma Jean Huff in Rensselaer, and they were married for 69 years. Mannie was a longtime farmer and enjoyed collecting antique tools and farm equipment. He was a Union carpenter and was a member of Local 1005 of Hammond.

He is survived by four daughters: Belinda Burns of West Lafayette, Helen (Jerry) Luttrell of Rensselaer, Molly (Roger) Chambliss of Mt.
