Obituary for Margarita Cullen

Margarita Cullen, 88, of Francesville, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Monticello Healthcare Center. She was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on February 22, 1930. She was the daughter of Narciso Baena and Placida Rodriguez.

Margarita worked hard all her life. She was a housekeeper and had many other jobs. Her dream was to become an American citizen and she obtained her dream in December of 1978. She was compassionate toward others, strong-willed, and very religious. She was born into the Catholic faith, but later in life, she attended the Church of Christ.

She had a green thumb and loved to garden. Her favorite flowers were roses.

Margarita loved children especially her grandchildren Sara and Jonn. They were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her son Juan “Jonn” Bernal and his wife Marilyn of Francesville; two grandchildren, Sara and Jonn Bernal of Francesville; one brother, Andres Baena; and two sisters, Prisca Baena and Santiago Arenas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon R. Cullen; one brother; and one sister.

Inurnment services will be held at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. EST. Memorials may be made to Augustas Cottage Memory Care at Monticello Healthcare.
