Obituary for Marsha Jan Brunton

Marsha Jan Brunton, 70, of Mt. Ayr, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in Dubois, PA on November 4, 1950, daughter of Joseph Pasierb and Doris (Brochey) Pasierb. She was a graduate of Dubois High School. On December 5, 1970 she married Scott Wayne Brunton at the Mt. Ayr Methodist Church.

Marsha worked for the Post Office. She was the substitute Post Master in Mt. Ayr for 20 years. She became a full-time postal carrier in Remington in 2002 and retired in 2012. She loved to travel and enjoyed playing bingo, dart ball, and bowling.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Scott W. Brunton; two sons, Scott J. (Julie) Brunton and James K. “Bud” (Niobe) Brunton; two daughters, Brigette D. Carlock and Christine E. (Brandon) Belt; one brother, James (Terri) Pasierb; two sisters, Ruth Pasierb and Alice (Rick) Zimmerman; and nine grandchildren: Amanda (Charles), Sierra, Austin, Katelyn, Keaton, Molly, Trey, Kassie, and Kaitlyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law Sandy Pasierb; and son-in-law Jeff Carlock.

Visitation will be Monday, February 22, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Due to the pandemic, masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home. Capacity limit of 50 people will be observed. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
