Obituary for Martha Lois Brandenburg (Vinson)
Martha Lois Brandenburg, 86, of Rensselaer, IN passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at Autumn Trace Senior Community in Rensselaer.
She was born in Petersburg, IN on March 8, 1936, the daughter of the late Arthur M. and Vena L. (Stone) Vinson. Martha was a graduate of Rensselaer High School, Class of 1954.
On March 28, 1954 she married Cletus “Bud” Daugherty. He preceded her in death April 2, 1994.
On September 3, 1999 she married James Brandenburg. He preceded her in death May 9, 2016.
Martha enjoyed 20 years in banking and 20 years having her own accounting business. She served on the Jasper County Fair Board, in the Jasper County Saddle Club, and 47 years on the Benjamin Harris Homes Board. She loved history, genealogy, antiques, and being a grandmother and great-grandmother, affectionately known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “GG”.
Martha is survived by a sister, Ruth Hershberger of West Lafayette, IN; a brother, Arthur (Susan) Vinson of Ft. Myers, FL; a daughter, Kathleen (Dain) Hayworth of Rensselaer; a granddaughter, Ashley (Joe) Hopp of Rensselaer; a grandson, Justin (Olivia) Hayworth of Rensselaer; a step-daughter, Kathy (Chris) Cook of Whitestown, IN; and four great-grandchildren: Hadley and Emersyn Hopp, and Saige and Kasen Hayworth.
