Raymond Walter Brownfield, 83, of Morocco, passed away Wednesday morning at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was born in St. Anne, IL on Nov. 25, 1930, son of the late Walter and Katherine (Madison) Brownfield. He was a lifelong area resident. He served his Country in the U.S. Army. On Jan. 27, 1951, in Morocco, he married Norma Jean (Russell) Brownfield. She preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2009.
Raymond was a farmer. He enjoyed joking around and visiting with friends and family. He was a member of the Morocco American Legion Post #146. He was affiliated with the Evangelical United Methodist Church.
Raymond is survived by his loving family: two sons: Larry Brownfield (wife: Debby) of Wheatfield and Ron Brownfield of Morocco; two grandchildren: Mickey Brownfield and Angela Dobson (husband: Travis); one great grandchild, Grant Brownfield; and one sister, Katherine Russell (husband: Chuck) of Lake Village. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; two sisters; and four brothers.
Friends may call on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco with Rev. Royal Voeller officiating.
