Obituary for Ricky Craig Sipe
Ricky Craig Sipe, 68, of Wheatfield, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 15, 2022. He was born in Rensselaer on September 18, 1953 to Gaylen and Edith (Hoover) Sipe. He was a 1971 graduate of North Newton High School.
Ricky was a millwright for Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Wheatfield Post #406. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting sports.
On April 27, 2013, in Morocco, he married Bonnie (Hollaway) Sipe. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Craig (April) Sipe of Jacksonville, FL and Stephen (Stephany) Sipe of Wheatfield; one daughter, Kendra Foley of Lafayette; one step-son, Philip (Heather) Knotts, one brother, Mark Sipe; two sisters, Annette (Jeff) Iseminger and Gayle (Cary) James; eight grandchildren: Cody, Brandon, Logan, Lyndsey, Lauren, Brian, Dalton, and Katelynn; five step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Sipe; and one step-son, Theodore Hollaway.
The family wishes to thank VNA Hospice of Porter County, and especially Ceara and Tabitha, for the excellent care they provided.
Visitation will be Friday, January 21, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home, 101 E. Beaver Street, Morocco, IN 47963. The funeral will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 with Pastor Patrick Gutwein officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Morocco.
