Obituary for Robert Dean "Bob" Goddard

Robert Dean Goddard, 88, a lifelong resident of Morocco, Indiana passed away Sunday morning, April 11, 2021 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. He was born in Washington Township on January 1, 1933, the son of Gerald Hagan Goddard and Madonna Marie (Roush) Goddard. He was a 1951 graduate of Morocco High School. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army. On August 31, 1969, in Morocco, he married Jewel M. McCord.

Bob worked as a foreman at Permonite Manufacturing and he was also a farmer. He was a member of the Morocco First United Methodist Church, and he was proud to be a 67-year member of the Morocco American Legion, Post 146. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 51years, Jewel M. Goddard of Morocco; three children: Christopher (Kate) Parrish of Chesterton, Randall (Andrea) Parrish of Kemp, TX, and April Parrish of Morocco; and two brothers, Richard (Deanna) Goddard of Morocco and David (Charlotte) Goddard of Anderson, IN. Seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joy Ann Goddard; and one daughter, Vicki Gulley.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses. Steinke Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements.
