Obituary for Ronald Ray "Ron" Huff

Ronald Ray Huff, 68, of Francesville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 at his home. He was born in Rensselaer on July 12, 1953, the son of James Huff, Jr. and Bethel (Campbell) Huff. He was a 1971 graduate of Rensselaer Central High School. His marriage was to Vicki (Todd) Huff. She preceded him in death Nov. 7, 2016.

Ron was a truck driver. He was talented at designing and handcrafting leather goods, such as belts, wallets and dog collars. He loved animals, especially his dogs which would sometimes ride in his truck with him. He was a big fan of funny car racing. His favorite driver was John Force.

He is survived by one daughter, Stacy (Mark) Fleming of West Lafayette; one son, Rod Huff of Rensselaer; one step-son, Kris Grover of Gould City, Michigan; two brothers, William (Bonnie) Huff of Kentucky and Mike (Becky) Huff of Florida; one sister, Kathy Duley of Rensselaer; four grandchildren: Sarah (Mathew) Martin of Lafayette, John Fleming, Katie (Joel) Szczepanski, and Hailey Huff, all of Rensselaer; four great-grandchildren: Allen, Joseph, Brooklyn, and Ayden, and one great-grandchild on the way. Several nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Vicki; and his brother-in-law, Ward Duley.

A private family funeral service will be held at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021 at 11:45 a.m. with Pastor Gary Minard officiating. All are welcome to attend. Memorials may be made to the charity or organization of the donor’s choice. Steinke Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
