Sheree Renee Sayers, 62, of Rensselaer, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 24, 2018. She was born in Napa, California on December 4, 1955 to Harvey F. Gossell and Zella M. (Spencer) Gossell. She was a 1975 graduate of Twin Lakes High School in Monticello.

On June 24, 1978, at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in Monticello, she married the love of her life, Jonathan Dee Sayers.

Sheree worked at the old Dollar General store on Washington Street in downtown Rensselaer. She also cleaned dorms at St. Joseph’s College and worked in housekeeping at Jasper County Hospital.

She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was also a member of the White County Home Ec. Extension Club. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, walking, and taking care of her puppies, Charlie and Arlow. She especially enjoyed visiting with her friends and family.

Sheree is survived by her husband Jonathan Sayers; son Luke Sayers (Erin); daughter Anna Sayers (John Stalter); three brothers: Terry Gossell (Lois), Gary Gossell (Carlita), and Mark Gossell (Kyong); and three sisters: Norma Robins, Evelyn Marzke, and Anita Mattos (Jerry).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Zella Gossell; two brothers, Harvey “Sonny” Gossell and Bernard Paul “Butch” Gossell; one brother-in-law, Ronald Marzke; one sister-in-law, DeLora Sayers; and her in-laws, Ernie and Ethel Sayers.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Pastor Benjamin Hertel officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
