Obituary for Tammy Marie Edwards (Sullivan)

Tammy Marie Edwards, 57, of Rensselaer, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021. She was born in Rensselaer on Feb. 22, 1964, the daughter of Allen Sullivan and Mary (Hammond) Miller. On Feb. 26, 1982, she married David Allen Edwards.

Tammy was a homemaker. She was a woman of many talents who enjoyed crafts, making soap and knitting sweaters. She blessed her friends and family with many gifts over the years. She enjoyed animals, especially raising her chickens. Tammy supplied many local residents with farm fresh eggs over the years. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed canning and tending to her garden. She provided anyone who needed to be fed with a home-cooked meal. No one ever left Tammy’s house hungry.

She was a woman of faith who loved the Lord. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Edwards; two sons, Michael (Amber) Edwards and Jason (Lindsey) Edwards; one daughter, Brittanie (Josh) Lape; two sisters, Karon (Ron) Joseph and Mary Ann (Rod) Oliver; her mother-in-law, Dawn Edwards; special nephew, Matt Edwards; six grandchildren: Paul, Sallie, Toney, Hailey, Jade, and Titus; and three great-grandchildren: Noah, Annalee, and Willow. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Henry Miller; and her father-in-law, Ed Edwards.
