Obituary for Walter C. Burton
Walter C. Burton, 88, of Brook, Indiana passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at his home. He was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on October 10, 1932, son of Omar Burton and Ella (Hudson) Burton.
Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired truck driver for Magnetek Better Coil in Goodland. He loved spending time with his family, especially his precious grandchildren.
On December 30, 1991, in Kentland, he married Janet I. (Richards) Burton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Chuck Richards of Brook, Kimberly Burton of Rensselaer, and Donald Richards of Wolcott; one sister, Faye Miller of Dyer; two granddaughters, Morgan Richards of Kentland and Ashley Manns of Rensselaer; and three great-grandchildren: Jace O’Neil, Blake Cavanaugh, and Olivia Cavanaugh, and one great-granddaughter on-the-way, Braelyn Cothran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray and Jack; and four sisters: Jean, Zella, Helen, and Jane.
Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for Monday, August 16, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Brook, Indiana. Rev. Matt Baughman officiating.
