Alice Etta Nemecek, age 88 of Morocco, passed away Monday afternoon, December 5, 2011 at her home. She was born in Enos on March 19, 1923, daughter of the late Harrison and Margarett (Brenneisen) Bingham. She was a lifelong area resident.
Alice graduated from Morocco High School. On April 3, 1948 in Cicero, Illinois she married her husband Frank Nemecek. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2007. Alice worked as an office secretary for several different companies until her retirement on December 31, 1986. She enjoyed traveling, watching sports and game shows, and spending time with her family and friends.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Mary Gebhardt (husband: Dan) of Wheeling, IL; a step-daughter, Penny Pratl of California; three grandchildren: Laura Gebhardt, Janice Gebhardt and Scott Pratl; three brothers: Larry Bingham of Morocco, Gary Bingham and Denny Bingham, both of California; and three sisters: Audrey Johnson (husband: Gene) of California, Dottie Kaupke of Phoenix, AZ, and Juanita Banister of Remington. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Frank.
Per Alice's wishes, cremation was chosen and an interment service will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery.
