Andrea Lynn Nelson

Andrea Lynn “Andie” Nelson, 70, of Brook, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 in Apache Junction, Arizona. She was born on May 27, 1944 to the late Anthony and Joan (Monjon) Zimmer. On Nov. 5, 1960 she married Thomas Nelson.

Andie was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Goodland, and the Altar Rosary Society at the church. She enjoyed golfing, going to casinos, attending her grandkids' ballgames, and spending time with her family.

Andie is survived by her loving family: husband Thomas Nelson of Brook; two daughters: Catherine Zeider (Steven) of Goodland and Lisa M. Malone of Brook; one son, Scott A. Nelson (Robin) of Brook; five grandchildren: Heath Malone (Alina) of Rensselaer, Cassie Zeider (Brett Morgan) of Indianapolis, Jordan Zeider of Goodland, Haylee Nelson of Brook, and Hannah Nelson of Brook; one great grandchild, Elliana Morgan of Indianapolis; one brother, Nick Zimmer (Cheryl) of Hawaii; two sisters, Vikki Piske (Ralph) of Kokomo and Toni Biddle of Terre Haute; and father-in-law Harold M. “Tony” Nelson of Watseka, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A Rosary Service will be held at the funeral home just prior to visitation, at 2:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. (CST) at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Goodland with Father Robert Bernotas officiating.
