Aubrey Smith

RENSSELAER -- Aubrey "Smitty" Smith Jr., 56, of Rensselaer, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at his residence.

Born Jan. 29, 1954, in Hammond, he was the son of Aubrey Smith Sr. and the late Donna Starky Smith. He was educated in Hammond schools.

On July 11, 1987, he married Rhonda Hill in Kentucky, and she survives.

Mr. Smith had been a material handler at Union Tank for 35 years, and had lived in Rensselaer since 1995.

Surviving with his wife and father are a son, Scott Mayfield (wife: Tracy) of Rensselaer; and a sister, Regina Looney (husband: Estil).

Services are 7:00 P.M. Monday in Rensselaer at Steinke Funeral Home with Pastor Melvin Lane officiating. Burial at Rest Haven Cemetery in Lafayette.
