Barry Shoup

Barry Lynn Shoup, 67 of Rensselaer, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 at his home. He was born in Florida on May 23, 1943, the son of Cyrus and Mildred (Millhouse) Shoup. Barry had been an area resident for 10 years, having previously lived in Florida and Ohio. On July 23, 1976 in Dayton, Ohio, Barry married Doris Day who survives. Also surviving are children: Sherry Brockman of Toledo, Ohio; Patti (Mrs. Benny) Morales of Rensselaer; Cindy (Mrs. Ben) Rivera of Soccovo, New Mexico; Elizabeth (Mrs. Eddie) Austin of Rensselaer; Mike (Beatrice) Troutner of Massachusetts; Casey (Debbie) Hubbard of Monon and Richard Shoup of Dayton, Ohio. A sister, Delores Plantinga of Missouri, 41 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, 3 sons and one grandson. Memorials are suggested to the Indiana University Cancer Center. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Marjorie Egger officiating.
