Bernice Bennett Cox

Bernice Bennett Cox, 91, of Morocco, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 at George Ade Memorial Healthcare Center in Brook. She was born in Morocco Oct. 2, 1922, daughter of the late Marion Earl Swartz and Jessie (Whaley) Swartz.

Bernice spent most of her life in Morocco and worked for many years at Permonite Manufacturing Co. She enjoyed crocheting and arts and crafts. She loved to travel, and visited every state except for Hawaii.

Bernice is survived by one son, Bob (Debbie) Bennett of Brook; one sister, Carolyn Dacunto of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband LaVern Bennett; her second husband, Howard Cox; two sons, Ronnie Bennett and Gary Bennett; one daughter, Connie Bennett Fontaine; three brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
