BERNICE MEYER, age 78 of Monon passed away Sunday evening, October 24, 2010 at Monticello Assisted Living & Healthcare Center in Monticello. She was born in Rosine, KY on February 27, 1932, daughter of the late Charles and Leona Embry. She was educated at the Chicago Heights, IL public schools. She was married to the late Charles Meyer.


Ms. Meyer worked in production at Dormeyer Industries in Kentland for several years, and was also a waitress. She retired in the late 1970s. She had been a resident of Monon for one year, having previously lived in Arizona for several years.


Ms. Meyer is survived by 3 sons: Charles Timothy Reagan of Washington state, Alfred (wife: Candace) Reagan of Remington, Rick (wife: Joyce) Reagan of Galivants Ferry, SC; a brother: Chuck Embry of Florida; 2 sisters: Barbara (Mrs. Tom) Salina of Chicago Heights, IL and Linda (Mrs. Andy) Lupo of Dyer, IN. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.


Cremation was chosen with interment to follow at a later date in Rosine, KY. Memorials are suggested to the family. Steinke Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
