Boyd Eugene Michal

Boyd Eugene Michal, 54, of Rensselaer, passed away after a brief illness Sunday morning, October 24, 2021 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born in Rensselaer on August 27, 1967, the son of Linda Lou (Beoughter) Michal and the late James Robert Michal. He graduated from Rensselaer Central High School with the Class of 1985. Boyd was a sectional wrestling champion and also played varsity football for the Bombers.

On October 28, 1995 he married Sheri Craig. Boyd was a self-employed truck driver for Michal & Son Trucking. He was employed at Moore Trucking for the past year.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheri Michal of Rensselaer; one son, Dalton Michal of DeMotte; one daughter, Bethany Michal of Rensselaer; one step-daughter, Amber Luttrell of Rensselaer; his mother, Linda Michal of Rensselaer; one brother, Ken (Lynette) Michal of Wolcott; one sister, Leila (Kurt) Klemme of Rensselaer; one step-sister, Tiffany (Simon) Silitonga of Noblesville; and one granddaughter, Kimber.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Michal, and an infant sister, Sandra Kay.

Visitation will be Friday, October 29, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 1 p.m. with Derald Ailes officiating. Burial will follow at Welsh Cemetery.
