Carol Lee Burgdorf, 82, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the Rensselaer Care Center. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 9, 1937. Her marriage was to Ronald Burgdorf.


She was a waitress at the Rainbow Restaurant & Bowling Alley at Pulaski and Diversey and Johnny’s Grill in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. Carol loved life. She enjoyed bowling; she loved Elvis; and she was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.


She is survived by her son, William (Chris) Gonzalez of Rensselaer; three grandchildren: Gregory Sizemore (fiancé: Nicole Jones) of Kentucky, Faith Gonzalez of Rensselaer and Isiah Kwiatkowski of Chicago; two step-granddaughters, Autumn and Christine Henderson; two step-great-grandsons, Eragon Smith and Colt Mullins; and one step-great-granddaughter, Lilly Mullins.


She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
