Charles John Pear

Charles John “Chuck” Pear, 72, of Morocco, IN passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at Franciscan Health Crown Point. He was born April 29, 1950, the son of Richard and Helen (Hardesty) Pear. He attended Thornton Fractional North High School in Calumet City, IL.

Chuck was a flooring installer for Carpetland and DeMotte Carpet for many years until his retirement. He was a big Chicago Bears fan and he loved to watch Jeopardy. He enjoyed fishing, collecting antique mechanical clocks, woodworking projects, stained glass and tinkering in his shop. He always had a project to work on.

He is survived by his life partner and soulmate, Linda Meyer; his loving daughter, Laura Pear; one brother, Rick (Gina) Pear; and two sisters, Sandy Boettger and Cindy (Larry) Strayer. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chuck and Linda shared many adventures together over the 38 years of love and togetherness. Chuck had a very dry sense of humor, and always had something witty to say. He loved his dogs and enjoyed taking Linda and Mic (their canine companion) for a Jeep ride to enjoy nature and the changing of the seasons.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was one special guy!

Per Chuck’s wishes, cremation will take place. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or your local animal shelter.
