Charles Walker

Charles W. Walker, 73, of rural Rensselaer passed away at his home Wednesday, June 18th. He was born in Rensselaer June 27, 1934, the son of the late Arthur P. and Leota (Obeinchain) Walker. Charles had been a lifetime Jasper County resident and attended Wheatfield High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 till 1956. On July 15, 1961, in Medaryville, he married Retha (Dobson), she survives. Most of his life was spent working as a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 150 in Merrillville, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God. He loved gardening, his work, family and his church. He will be greatly missed by his family as well as the many, many friends that he had.
