Cheryl A. Geren

Cheryl A. Geren, 59, of Rensselaer, passed away at Franciscan Health Rensselaer on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. She was born on December 28, 1956, daughter of the late John C. Geren and Nadine (Conley) Geren.

She graduated from Rensselaer Central High School with the class of 1975. She earned her associate’s degree from Ivy Tech in Lafayette and worked as a surgical technician for St. Elizabeth Hospital, Home Hospital, and Clarian Arnett Hospital. She enjoyed reading, watching movies and knitting.

Cheryl is survived by two sisters, Patricia Froman and Marsha (John) Carter; one brother, David (Kathy Lynn) Geren; two nieces, Rebecca June “Cleo” Hamer and Rachael (Kyle) Rice; and six nephews: Steele Carter, Thomas Geren, Ryan David “Bear” Geren, Michael Stephen Geren, Daniel Calvin Geren, and David Wayne Hamer. She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Nadine Geren; and one nephew, John Brian Hamer.
