Darlene Matthias

Darlene Matthias, 67, of Morocco, Indiana passed away at her home on Friday, March 16, 2018. She was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on May 22, 1950, the daughter of Edgar W. and Elizabeth (Johnson) Randolph. She attended Crown Point High School. On December 9, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois she married Gerald Matthias. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2007.

Darlene worked as a caregiver. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden, growing beautiful flowers, hunting mushrooms, and hunting and fishing. She loved animals and was talented at woodworking. She was a strong, kind-hearted woman who enjoyed helping others.

Darlene is survived by: her son, Robert (Becky) Randolph; two grandchildren, Cody Randolph and Jacqueline Randolph; two brothers, Edgar “Sonny” (Rosemary) Randolph, Jr. and Bobby Randolph; four sisters: Barbara Etchison, Flossie “Midge” Strader, Geraldine “Jerry” (John) Banser, and Charlotte (Gary) Shipley.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Gerald Matthias; her parents, Edgar and Elizabeth Randolph; and one brother, Thomas Eugene Randolph.

The family is planning a memorial service on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at The River Church, 503 E. Beaver St., Morocco, IN 47963. Pastor John Fuller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Share memories and condolences online at www.SteinkeFuneralHome.com.
