David A. Doyle, Sr., age 64 of Morocco, passed away at 9:01 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. He was born in Rensselaer on Jan. 22, 1947, son of the late Cyril Doyle and Nellie (Delaney) Seymore.
Dave was a lifelong area resident and graduated from North Newton High School with the class of 1965. In November of 1965 he married Sherry Spillers. Dave was a truck driver for White Line Express Trucking of Champaign, IL, before retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Morocco 1st United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and visiting with friends at the coffee shop.
Dave is survived by his ex-wife Sherry Spillers; daughter Donna Anderson (husband: Fred) of Lake Village; son David A. Doyle, Jr. (fiancee: Diana) of Wheatfield; five brothers: Daniel Doyle (wife: Linda) of Cadiz, KY, Joe Doyle (wife: Cathy) of Kimmell, IN, Terry Doyle (wife: Vivian) of Orfordville, WI, George Doyle of Monticello, and Mike Doyle (wife: Lisa) of Waukesha, WI; five sisters: Mary Brink (husband: Bud) of Mauston, WI, Ruby Kellogg of Monticello, Laurie Pace (husband: Jay) of Waukesha, WI, Barb Plummer (husband: Jeff) of Monticello, Darlene Dawson (husband: Richard) of Dubuque, IA; and a sister-in-law, Leatha Doyle of Crawfordsville. Seven grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Jerry Doyle, Sr. and James Doyle, Sr.; and a nephew, James Doyle, Jr.
Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel of Morocco. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Morocco 1st United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Waggoner officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Morocco 1st United Methodist Church.
