David Lape

David J. Lape, Sr., age 57 of 9496 S 180 W, Rensselaer passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Jasper County Hospital. He was born in Lake County, Indiana on July 2, 1951 a son of the late Leland Lape and Wlma Ann (Schreiber) Lape of Rensselaer. He had been a Jasper County resident for over 50 years coming here from Lake County. On March 16, 1973 he married Linda M. Thomas. She survives. He attended school in Lake County and in Remington. He had worked as a factory production laborer for Omni Forge of Remington for 20 years and was currently employed by Murpac of Remington. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. David had been a 13 year member of the Remington Fire Department, serving as training officer for several years. He was a faithful member and Associate Pastor of Faith Christian Tabernacle Church. David loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Memorials in David's memory may be made to the Faith Christian Tabernacle Church. David was a devote Christian and will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters in Christ. His wife, Linda, family, and all the friends he made over a lifetime will miss his presence but find comfort in knowing he is with the Lord he loved and served during his lifetime.
