David Lockard

DAVID C. LOCKARD, SR. of Rensselaer, formerly of Monon, passed away at Rensselaer Care Center Wednesday, April 13, 2011. David was born July 22, 1940 in Bloomfield, Indiana, son of the late John Lockard, Sr. and Naomi Goad Lockard.

David was educated in the Wolcott Public Schools and was involved in farming his entire lifetime having worked for Carlock Farms, Grow Farms and Leibert Farms of St. Anne, Il retiring in 2010.

Surviving are 4 sons and 2 daughters: David R. Lockard of Brook, Scott Lockard, Sr. of Otterbein, David Lockard, Jr. (wife Susie) of Thayer and Richard Lockard (wife Missy) of Rensselaer; Debbie Cornwell (Mrs. Ed) of Brook and Susie Gillenwater of Florida. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

Preceding David in death were his parents and a brother, John Lockard, Jr.

Memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to Rensselaer Monument Company, P.O. Box 214, Rensselaer, IN.

Per David’s request he was cremated and his ashes will be interred at Palastine Cemetery on April 20, 2011. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the American Legion Post #29, 1565 N. McKinley Ave. in Rensselaer.
