David L. Lucas

David L. “Stubby” Lucas, 66, of Morocco, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. He was born in Rensselaer on March 19, 1949, son of the late John Hartman Lucas and Helen Opal (Price) Lucas. He was a lifelong resident of Newton County.


On August 27, 1983, he married Terry (Suprenant) Lucas, and she survives. He worked as a welder for Talbert Manufacturing in Rensselaer. He enjoyed working and spending time with his family.


Stubby is survived by his wife Terry Lucas; three daughters: Catherine (John) Little, Helen (Mike) Call, and Donna Svitek; three grandchildren: Kelsey, Quinten, and Summer; one sister, Rosie; and two brothers, John, Sr. and Dick. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
