David B. Luttrell

David B. Luttrell, Sr., age 67, of Austin, Indiana, and formerly of Winamac, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 25, 1950 to the late Rastus and Donna (Losh) Luttrell. On September 10, 2004, he married Paula Kay Johnson. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2017.

David was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid fisherman, camper, and hunter. He loved all sports, including NASCAR, his favorite driver being Jimmy Johnson. He also loved the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs. David loved playing cards with his family and friends, cooking, and spending time working in his garden.

David is survived by three sons: Joshua D. Luttrell of Louisville, Kentucky, Nicholas K. Luttrell of Portland, Oregon, and David B. Luttrell, Jr. (Wendy) of Winamac, Indiana; and two daughters, Brandy K. Luttrell (Paul Sherwood) of Muncie, Indiana and Valdora S. (Jonathan) Greene of Middletown, Indiana. He is survived by grandchildren: Madison Luttrell, Kacey Luttrell, Ashton Haskins and Liam Haskins, Tyler Greene and Austin Greene, Aariyanna Luttrell and Zavier Luttrell, and Lylah Luttrell. Also surviving David are sisters: Sandy Schultz, Grace Carter, and Lou (Albert) Cooper; nieces and nephews: Randy (Kristin) Hughes, Jessica Hand (Harold Chinn), Eric (Tiffiny) Carter, Frankie Carter (Bob Brehm), Bryan Carter, and Donna Marie Luttrell.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by: his brother, Randall Luttrell; nephews Scotty Hughes and Edwin Reed; and niece Terra Dyer.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. (Central Time) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 12 p.m. (Central Time) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Rev. Brent Smith officiating.
